Inside, the restaurant contains a mixture of the types of signs those following our work for Wendy’s will have become familiar with: lots of decorative signage – both illuminated and non-illuminated. From framed artworks, to vinyl applied graphics, hand painted mural cameos and internal LED illuminated signage like the ‘Pick Up’ sign.
But it is on the outside of the restaurant that we have installed the biggest signage. Everything from multiple large, illuminated cameos, to illuminated Wendy’s logos, to large non-illuminated acrylic lettering. But by far the most impressive signs are two illuminated drive-through ‘Pylon Signs’ – each of which are over 3 metres wide and 8 metres tall!
Such a large amount of external signage – as well as the sheer size of some of them, means we have been working very closely with dedicated site managers and engineers to plan and deliver it all. The 8 metre pylon signs alone required collaboration with multiple different parties to coordinate everything from concrete bases and steel structural root cages, through to the sheer logistics of transporting and installing such massive signs.
Wendy’s Maskew Avenue has now had its grand opening and we wish the whole team there as well as the wider Wendy’s family the very best with their latest UK restaurant.
