Remembrance Day Poppies

Links Signs are proud to have supported Transport for London in delivering Remembrance Day Poppies graphics across the Underground network. Specially selected roundels at 10 Underground stations now display the variant Remembrance Day Poppy graphics and will continue to do so through the period leading up to and including Remembrance Sunday (11th November). The roundels will then revert back to their standard look after the Remembrance period is over.

Remembrance Day (sometimes known informally as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Links Signs successfully managed a complex project overseeing the manufacture and installation of 48 panels to create a bespoke mural on the Transport for London (TfL) owned bridge and the station entrance at Northwood Hills station. Links ensured not only that all the technical and engineering requirements of TfL were met but also that the extensive colour hues specified by mural artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson were achieved. The finished result is wonderful, as summed up by Mayor of London Boris Johnson when he visited ‘My God, it’s beautiful! Did we do this? The murals – they’re sensational!’ He added: ‘I think it’s all fantastic, really imaginative. I’m very proud.’
