Links Signs recently completed the manufacture and installation of signage for the newly opened Wendy’s restaurant in Portsmouth. The popular US-based restaurant chain have been bringing their signature fast food offerings to a slew of new restaurants in the UK over the past few years – and Portsmouth is the latest restaurant to open to UK customers.
A Compete Restaurant Fit-Out
Links Signs were contracted to design, manufacture and install a complete suite of signage at Wendy’s Portsmouth – both internally and externally. The outside of the restaurant features several pieces – from the internally LED illuminated rim & return main logo sign above the entrance, to an illuminated projecting cameo sign and external large format vinyl cameo.
Internally, we manufactured and fitted a number of decorative pieces – from the illuminated signs above the Pick Up point or the decorative end-wall ‘We Don’t Cut Corners’ display – to non-illuminated decorative elements like a hand-painted mural along one whole wall, or the walnut-framed wall graphics and ‘We Love Portsmouth’ display.
Installation took place over a period of three days, with the internal signage installed on the first day, exterior signs on the second and finalising and final touches on the third. If you’re in Portsmouth, why not grab a Baconator – or one of the many other tasty burgers Wendy’s are rightly famous for – and check out the decor whilst you’re there!

Links Signs took on the challenge to provide the awards for the first Transport for London Supplier Awards. Using products and materials that are supplied to TfL for our station signage, Links created very impressive plaques for our winners and runners up. Throughout the production process Links kept TfL up to date with images, delivery schedule and were always on hand to clarify any queries. We look forward to working with them again next year.Amanda Green – Transport for London

Links Signs successfully managed a complex project overseeing the manufacture and installation of 48 panels to create a bespoke mural on the Transport for London (TfL) owned bridge and the station entrance at Northwood Hills station. Links ensured not only that all the technical and engineering requirements of TfL were met but also that the extensive colour hues specified by mural artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson were achieved. The finished result is wonderful, as summed up by Mayor of London Boris Johnson when he visited ‘My God, it’s beautiful! Did we do this? The murals – they’re sensational!’ He added: ‘I think it’s all fantastic, really imaginative. I’m very proud.’Helena Webster – Town Centre Improvements Team Manager, London Borough of Hillingdon
