Wendy’s Brampton Hut

Recently, Links Signs has been working closely with American fast food giant Wendy’s, providing complete signage solutions for new restaurant outlets they have been opening up across the UK. Wendy’s Brampton Hut is one of the latest restaurants we’ve partnered on.

Located near Huntington, at the motorway services by the Brampton Hut Interchange, Links Signs produced all the exterior and interior signage. On the outside, illuminated logotype and cameo signs cover three exterior walls. The interior combines nearly every type of illuminated and non-illuminated sign to be found at any Wendy’s branch:

Illuminated ‘we don’t cut corners’ and Pick Up point signs
Decorative illuminated ‘Fresh Since Day One’ graphics on wood panelling
A hand painted mural covering a whole wall of the restaurant
Walnut-framed decorative digitally printed wall prints

The whole project is a perfect example of a large retail park fit-out. Whilst the look of Wendy’s restaurants is coherent and uniform across different sites – there are certain surveying, installation and planning restrictions that will always differ between retail park sites and more town or city centre based locations.

Links Signs successfully managed a complex project overseeing the manufacture and installation of 48 panels to create a bespoke mural on the Transport for London (TfL) owned bridge and the station entrance at Northwood Hills station. Links ensured not only that all the technical and engineering requirements of TfL were met but also that the extensive colour hues specified by mural artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson were achieved. The finished result is wonderful, as summed up by Mayor of London Boris Johnson when he visited ‘My God, it’s beautiful! Did we do this? The murals – they’re sensational!’ He added: ‘I think it’s all fantastic, really imaginative. I’m very proud.’
