RUSH Hair – Branch Signage

Links Signs Completes Refurbishment of Select Branch Shopfronts for the RUSH Hair Chain of Salons

In 2018, the RUSH Hair chain of salons underwent a rebranding exercise. Links Signs were chosen to manufacture and install new shopfront signage for select branches of the franchise. Salons in Camden and Farringdon were entrusted to us for refurbishment. Each required bespoke new signage manufacturing and installing, with both having specific requirements.

RUSH Hair Camden

At the Camden branch, we removed the old signage from the shopfront fascia. The fascia itself was then repainted pure white, ready for the new main shopfront sign to be installed. Unlike the original sign, our new centrepiece sign for the fascia was a redesigned, internally illuminated version instead. Fabricated from built-up 304 grade polished stainless steel letters, each housed a laser-cut white opal acrylic face and internal LED components. All of the built up letters were flush mounted centrally to a folded aluminium panel, powder coated to match RUSH Hair corporate blue.

RUSH Hair Farringdon

For the Farringdon branch, the requirements were different. Here too, we were tasked with producing illuminated logo signs formed from built-up 304 grade stainless steel. Instead of internal LEDs, these signs are illuminated with metre-long Ecolux Mini trough lights, powdercoated in the client’s signature blue colour. These provide down-lighting to illuminate the signs positioned underneath. Next was a new internal LED-illuminated projecting sign, fitted above the main entrance. We also produced a number of fret-cut and reverse applied window vinyls in metallic silver and colour-matched blue. These prominently displayed contact details like telephone number, web address and the branch’s opening hours. To complete the fit-out, a full-colour reverse applied, digitally printed poster advertising the grand opening of the branch was fitted to cover the entire main shop-front window.

Links Signs successfully managed a complex project overseeing the manufacture and installation of 48 panels to create a bespoke mural on the Transport for London (TfL) owned bridge and the station entrance at Northwood Hills station. Links ensured not only that all the technical and engineering requirements of TfL were met but also that the extensive colour hues specified by mural artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson were achieved. The finished result is wonderful, as summed up by Mayor of London Boris Johnson when he visited ‘My God, it’s beautiful! Did we do this? The murals – they’re sensational!’ He added: ‘I think it’s all fantastic, really imaginative. I’m very proud.’
