Links Signs, in partnership with PlayStation Uk and Transport for London have put the coin in the slot, levelled up and delivered promotional graphics for the mega media launch of the PlayStation PS5.
PlayStation UK approached TfL with the idea of transforming several tube stations to promote the launch of the PS5. Some of the stations became punstations playing on the name of the station to promote the fantastic games available on the PS5.
Oxford Circus became emblazed with the iconic symbols of the PlayStation
Meanwhile the following station names were modified to promote PlayStation game titles:
Lancaster Gate – “Ratchet & Clancaster Gate”
Mile End – “Miles End”
Seven Sisters – “Gran Turismo 7 Sisters”
West Ham – “ Horizon Forbidden West Ham”
All stations were completely transformed in one night to ensure that these supported the global media campaign PlayStation were undertaking.
In order to provide PlayStations UK’s design agency with exact templates to work to for the vinyl graphics,
Links Signs undertook an extensive and detailed survey of all the areas TfL has cleared as promotional space.
Each location varied slightly in size and substrate vinyl was to be applied to, all within our capability. As part of the installation, all existing TfL Station Platform Roundels had to be removed and stored securely ready for re-install once the promotion finished. This meant keeping track of and matching up graphics to the location and storing of Roundels became a logistical exercise in itself.
The window for our installers to both install the graphics was very tight. Our expert and fully accredited install team had it in hand… no need for extra lives here!
Secrecy was upmost on this project, we all at Links Signs are itching to get our hands on the new PS5 as we were all really impressed with the images and the campaign… totally immersed in the concept.
