Links Signs recently commissioned London based photographer Thierry Bal to photograph the vitreous enamel Art Installation at Northwood Hills. Thierry’s practice predominantly focuses on contemporary art – he specialises in working with arts magazines, arts institutions and projects with and for artists. He came to Hastings in March 2016 to do a shoot at our production facility, having previously shot the book ‘Labyrinth’, on artist Mark Wallinger’s project for London Underground. Just as with Mark Wallinger’s project, Links Signs were also the principal fabricators of the art installation at Northwood Hills.
All the vitreous enamel panels at Northwood Hills feature art by renowned artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson. Links Signs fabricated and screen printed all of them in house. You can find more details about this installation on our projects page, including details of the artists.
‘Thierry is a great guy to work with, and the images he captures are of the highest quality. He takes your ideas and concepts, expands on them and creates some truly inspiring images. Thierry ensure’s every little detail is correct, making for some stunning images. He has captured the vibrancy and scale of the artwork at Northwood Hills perfectly’.

Links Signs successfully managed a complex project overseeing the manufacture and installation of 48 panels to create a bespoke mural on the Transport for London (TfL) owned bridge and the station entrance at Northwood Hills station. Links ensured not only that all the technical and engineering requirements of TfL were met but also that the extensive colour hues specified by mural artists Gordon Collett and Cosmo Sarson were achieved. The finished result is wonderful, as summed up by Mayor of London Boris Johnson when he visited ‘My God, it’s beautiful! Did we do this? The murals – they’re sensational!’ He added: ‘I think it’s all fantastic, really imaginative. I’m very proud.’Helena Webster – Town Centre Improvements Team Manager, London Borough of Hillingdon
